A downloadable game

In this game, you are a ghost and apprentice Reaper, learning the ropes of the Afterlife.

One of your duties is to protect restricted sites from human intrusion, because those sites contain in them an all-consuming Darkness, which is bad for both the living and the dead. It is drawn to the living, and will wake up and begin to spread if they are close by.

Each game will be a different map, the first is a mansion. You must convince the living to leave, one way or another, but do so without allowing them to gather too much evidence about you. If they leave with evidence, it may draw more people to the site, and that cannot be allowed.

NPCs range from actual paranormal investigators roaming the location, to psychics, and even the occasional squatter or burglar. None of them belong, and all of them have different thresholds for leaving. Though leaving is optional, as long as you can keep them alive until dawn.

Making noises in other parts of the house may draw NPCs to it, and away from danger. Use this to keep them alive until the sun can dispel the Darkness.

All of this takes place in creepy Afterlife versions of the rooms of the house, where everything is a warped and decaying version of itself.

Dangers include: the Darkness, some NPCs can also harm you with blessings or smudges, and the location's Echoes. Echoes are "residual" ghosts, which are usually mindless and cannot leave, but can rarely become more active when riled up somehow.
